Bikini Prep Week 1 

I have some new fitness goals that I’m so excited to share with you all! This summer, I will be getting on stage for  my first NPC  Bikini competition! Say what?!?!? Yup! Going to be strapping on some heels, in a bedazzled bikini, big hair and all!  So why bikini competitions? 1.) I want to take my fitness to the next level. 2.) I want to gain the experience so that I could possibly train someone in the future. Experience IS the best teacher!  3.) Because I secretly pretend to be a runway model and this is the closest I’ll will EVER get! 😉

 I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a fitness competition for about a year now and I’ve been back and forth on if I should or not. For whatever reason, I could never pull the trigger and commit to it.  But the thought of it kept popping up in my brain! I literally couldn’t get it off my mind! So finally I said to myself “If you don’t do this, will you look back with regret?” 


So there it is…. I’m doing it! 

I know this is going to be tough and it’s going to take a lot of dedication, but I  am looking forward to the challenge! My first priority is and will always be my family. Finding a balance between being a wife and mother, working and training will be challenging. Thankfully, I work in a gym and have a husband who is 100% behind my decision to do this! 

I’m looking forward to getting into the training and learning this process. Since this is my first competition, I will be using a coach to help guide me through this process. Honestly, I don’t know much about the competition scene, especially the posing. If I were to do this on my own, My posing would probably look like Bambi learning how to walk.


This is also the part I’m looking forward to the most! Getting on stage and unleashing the sassy! 

I’m so excited and a little nervous, but I am ready to rock this! The show I will be doing is in August, so right now I’m continuing with my workouts and really dialing in my nutrition. You cannot out train a bad diet! Here are my before pictures:

I just want to make it clear that I am not doing this because I don’t like my body. I love my body! It’s not perfect, but it’s the only one I’ll ever have, so you gotta love it! Plus, this body was the home of my daughter for nine months. Every part of her grew and developed in my body, so for that reason alone,  I have to love and respect it. 

But for competition, I am going to have to do some work. I’m about 19 weeks out from the competition and I’m confident that I can safely make some big changes in that time. 

Ok, so here it goes… I’M OFFICIALLY IN BIKINI PREP! Whoop whoop!
